Pateley Bridge

This 4mm layout is centred on the station at Pateley Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales and the period modelled is during LNER days.  It was the terminus of a branch line that diverged from the Harrogate to Ripon line.  At Pateley Bridge there was a through connection to the Nidd Valley Light Railway that was built to carry materials to the Scar House reservoir of Bradford Corporation.

The connection to the NVLR will enable some exoteric locos, such as an ex Metropolitan Railway tank and an ex GWR railmotor to put in an appearance as well as the more usual London & North eastern stock and locos.

Construction of the layout is fairly conventional but the three sided angular layout enables it to fit into an external or internal corner.  This could help solve some exhibition managers space problems.  Dual sided point operation enables the layout to be viewed or operated from either side.

The scenery is broken insulation board modelled to represent the grits of the dales.  This is adulterated with the usual mixture of polyfilla (and whatever else comes to hand!)
